CIGO! for Smart Cities is a mobility management platform to help cities make sense out of all the data available in order to improve the operational efficiency of their services to ultimately make an impact on the citizen’s quality of life. CIGO! integrates data from various sources such as Open Data, mobile apps, sensors and government data, allowing for its visualisation and analysis while making it actionable through associated mobile apps.
The massive amount of tourists, citizens and traffic in big cities usually collapse certain areas causing transport inefficiency, unbalanced economic growth and nuisance among tourists and citizens. CIGO! for tourism consists of two elements:
A Mobile App for citizens and tourists that recommends personalised routes and content based on the user’s tastes and the city needs.
A Web App for the city to monitor the user’s activity in terms of mobility and use of the city. It includes reports like most visited areas, most visited shops/restaurants/museums, mobility evolution through time and completion rate of the routes suggested.
With CIGO! for tourism the city government deploys its mobility policies through Mobile Apps while monitoring a wide range of KPIs. Points of interest (POI) like restaurants, museums and shops increase their exposure and awareness among citizens and tourists. Finally, citizens and tourists discover new POIs avoiding crowded and overpriced places using an app without a need for internet connection.

Use case developed for:
Terrassa and the rest of municipalities in the association of urban transport (AMTU) will perform a study regarding the use of public transportation using our high-end technology CIGO!
Using their mobile devices, the city will be able to track the moving patterns of a number of volunteers to better understand how they use public transport, thanks to beacons previously installed in buses. Just by pressing ‘Start’ and ‘Stop’ in the mobile app, at the beginning and end of each citizen’s commute, the algorithm will be able to geo-locate the user and distinguish the means of transport used.
This is an interesting case of how Go!Cities integrates IoT technology in its platform to deliver meaningful information to the city in order to reorganize public transport policies.
Use case in development for:
CIGO! uses the history from the loading/unloading areas of the city to predict their occupancy for each day and schedule. This simulation information is used to recommend the best free loading spot to the delivery driver within the Mobile App. The delivery services drivers are able to fulfil their duty faster while the city benefits of having a fluid circulation of cars. The actual spot that the driver used is also stored to help in the analysis.
With CIGO! the city will be able to compare the real occupation against the predicted. This information will be used to constantly improve the recommendation algorithm.
